Pernia Qureshi's Heirloom Reception Outfit is Perfect for a Regal Bride
Pernia Qureshi, popularly known for ‘Pernia’s Popup Shop’ is a fashion entrepreneur who is known for her impeccable style. She recently tied the knot with her beau, Sahil Gilani and her pictures broke the internet! It comes as no surprise that she was seen flaunting some gorgeous and breathtaking outfits on her wedding functions- a Faraz Manan lehenga for her sangeet, an ivory kurta by Qureshi label for her mehendi ceremony, and a heavy silver lehenga by Elan for her wedding.
While the queen of fashion looked stunning in each ensemble
Pernia left us awestruck once again with her Reception outfit, and we are still drooling over it. This outfit has a whole lot of feelings, nostalgia and a personal touch. Pernia mentioned on her Instagram page that this red farshi gharara was originally stitched by her Nani for her mother, and now it was redone by House of Kotwara for Pernia’s reception.
Here are pictures from her reception which will make your heart skip a beat and transport you to a regal world:
The outfit consisted of a red full-sleeved top with flared bottoms. Although her flared bottoms weren’t heavily embellished; the purple, pink, yellow and green hem, made her outfit look even more spectacular! Her elegant tissue-silk dupatta completed her royal ensemble.
This recreated farshi gharara is made out of zari. The motifs and techniques used to make this royal and exemplary outfit, come from Kotwara’s archives. Each inch of embroidery uses more than eight types of zari yarn and stitches. Moreover, the dupatta is also woven using zari.
FUN FACT: This outfit took almost 22 months to complete.
Pernia’s makeup was taken care of by Namrata Soni. Her bold red lip colour, pink eyeshadow and contoured cheekbones made her look nothing short of stunning!
Next time you are wondering how to incorporate an heirloom outfit, take a cue from Pernia’s gorgeous ensemble!
