Vishesh & Sanya Mumbai : A love story that began more than a decade ago, reinstills our faith in the concept of soulmates.

Vishesh & Sanya Mumbai : A love story that began more than a decade ago, reinstills our faith in the concept of soulmates.

“In one lifetime you may love many times, but one love will burn your soul forever.”

Such is the story of Sanya and Vishesh, two individuals who proved that true love is all you need to be with someone for a lifetime…

About the lovebirds

Sanya and Vishesh met in the beginning of 2008 as part of a skiing trip in Shimla, which was organized by school. They were acquaintances, but lost touch. They  met again at the end of 2008 for a trip to Malaysia and that is when they became really good friends.

On the way back to Mumbai, Vishesh asked Sanya out on a date. A few months went by and he kept pursuing her for the same and she kept thinking about it. Finally, on March 17th, 2019, she said YES!

The bride, Sanya Puri, says, “We dated for close to three years. However, in 2011 we mutually separated. After this, Vishesh shifted to London to pursue his Bachelor’s degree, but we remained friends. Although we were friends, we only spoke occasionally. We got back together in 2015. It felt like we were destined to be together. Vishesh and I hung out for a few months and then we realized that we were more than just friends. Once we got back in September 2016, there was no looking back. It just felt right! Ten years of knowing each other, and here we are eagerly waiting to spend a lifetime together.”

The Wedding Festivities

Bhajan Sandhya

The bride wore a beautiful Jayanti Reddy purple and gold Banarasi lehenga, while the groom wore a neon green sherwani. The decor was ethereal and floral. The seating arrangement comprised of pastel upholstery and was rather comfortable and refreshing. The entrance to the bhajan sandhya saw brass elements, cascading lamps, candles and gorgeous floral arrangements.

Mehendi

The mehendi function saw Sanya donning a vibrant blue outfit, one of the first she picked up on an outfit research trip to Delhi. Vishesh went in for something unconventional- a light pink indo-western asymmetrical sherwani.

Sangeet and Cocktail

Sanya looked like a million bucks in an olive green cocktail lehenga by Manish Malhotra, while Vishesh looked dapper in a wine coloured tux. The couple’s LIT hashtag ‘SanGotHerVish’ was rather eye-catching! The decor saw some rustic yet refreshing elements. The function saw dhamakedaar dance performances, the cake cutting ceremony, and the couple exchanging rings.

Haldi

The bride and groom had separate haldi ceremonies. Sanya was seen wearing an understated yellow outfit, while Vishesh wore a simple yellow kurta.

Wedding

For the wedding, Sanya wanted something that made her look like a classic bride, reason being she zeroes in on a traditional red heavily embellished Sabyasachi lehenga. The groom wore a classic white embroidered sherwani and paired it with a multi-hued safa and a stole.

The decor was rather extravagant. The mandap comprised of vintage crystal chandeliers, ornate pillars bedecked with roses and a magnificent floral chandelier.

After Party

The bride looked stunning in a a gorgeous blue outfit. To this the bride adds, “I wanted an amit Aggarwal piece I was very sure about it. I met him and asked him to design an easy going dress which he did. A teal blue dress.”

About the photographer (Isrrani Photography)

“Megha and her whole team, dhiraj and all the others are amazing. Dedicated and Passionate about their job. And when you see their body of work you realise that.”

About the footwear

“All my footwear was done up beautifully by nidhi from Leonish.

She is a sweetheart gives the best solutions and makes the most comfortable heels for brides like me who wanted to dance till 6am every morning which I sure did.”

About makeup and hair (Draameinbaaz)

“Varsha Gidwani also happens to be a family friend when she was always on my list of make up artists I would contact whenever I decide to marry. And luckily for me she was available on those dates for my timings of functions. Vidya did a fab job with my hair.”

Problems suring wedding planning

“Venue. Haha. We had to change the date thrice cause we wanted Taj lands end at any cost. Honestly I’d like to tell every to be bride and groom the day you decide to get married is the day you start looking for venues especially in Mumbai and in wedding season since our wedding was in the peak November season.

It goes the same with all the other bookings whether it’s make up artists or wedding planners.”

Most Memorable Moment

When I was walking towards vishesh under my phoolon ki chaddar carried by my brothers with all my loved ones walking around me. I was a nervous wreck. But his sight calmed me down. It’s like only both of us existed in that moment.

Tips for other brides and grooms

Please make sure to give those 5 mins to your photographers to capture the memories you will look at for a lifetime. Don’t be in a hurry. I regret not giving them enough time.
