6 Monsoon Tips for the Indian Bride
When planned smartly, a monsoon wedding can be magical and so much fun. The rains can bring a rather pleasant touch to the ambience and if, by the end, you feel like it, dance in the rain!
To help make the day more special for the bride, here are 6 tips she should keep in mind:
1. Bring out the pastels

Shades of red may be the presumed colour for the Indian bride but a monsoon wedding calls for something different. Opt for a pastel colour for your wedding ensemble. This does not mean you cannot go for red, but a lighter colour will definitely not cause any discomfort.
2. Opt for light fabrics

Avoid heavy fabrics such as velvet, raw satin and brocade and go for lighter options such as net, georgette, satin or crepe instead. Heavy fabrics are difficult to lug around during rains. Also, such fabrics take a much longer time to dry up.
3. Go easy on the bling

This applies to the outfit as well as the accessories. For your outfit, opt for threadwork and lacework and keep the sequence-work to a minimal. In terms of jewellery, it is best to wear statement pieces rather than layering up. The humid weather can corrode the material of your jewellery which can react with your skin and cause a rash.
4. Haircare at its best

The gloomy and humid weather might make your hair lose its shine as well as go limp. The best way to avoid this is to wash your hair 2-3 times during your wedding week with a mild shampoo. Avoid using any conditioner since it makes your hair heavy.
5. Waterproof makeup

Matte and waterproof makeup is going to be your best friend during your monsoon wedding. No bride wants to wear makeup that will start melting as soon as it comes in contact with humidity or the rain. For this reason, it is also best to avoid any cream-based products.
6. Friendly Footwear

Make sure to have flip-flops or flats handy! Don’t fall into the temptation of wearing sky-high heels because it will only prove to be taxing for your feet. If you want to wear heels, consider wedges, platform or kitten heels.
