5 Decor Ideas for Hosting Your Pre-Wedding Celebration at Home

In olden times, all wedding ceremonies used to take place at home. Having these celebrations organised at venues is a more modern option. Coming full circle, people are slowly going back to the tradition of hosting their pre-wedding ceremonies at home. It is definitely a more comfortable and affordable option. If you are looking for some decor ideas for your pre-wedding ceremony taking place at home, check out these 5:

Lights

Lights can range from quaint diyas to twinkling fairy lights to luminescent lamps. No doubt, lights can brighten up the place, literally and metaphorically. You can place floating candles in bowls, in case you have a backyard or an adjoining outdoor space, twirl fairy lights around tree barks or even hang lamps from hooks to give a rustic and cosy feel to the celebration.

Rangoli

For any auspicious or special occasion, families in India generally decorate the threshold of their homes by making a design using colourful sand. A wedding ceremony is also an incredibly joyous and auspicious occasion. For your pre-wedding ceremony at home, you can have rangoli designs made at the entrance as well as corners where the design will not get ruined due to any reason.

Flowers

A wedding without flowers? Impossible! No Indian wedding can be complete if there aren’t an array of flowers to grace the space. Consider the season, theme (if any) availability and the space that you can work with while picking the floral arrangements. Genda phool is a favourite and can be incorporated in any kind of wedding!

Fabrics

From table covers to disposable hand napkins, fabrics include all of it. Take a good look at the area that you will be decorating and accordingly list down any cloth or fabrics that you will require to decorate or cover. For example, if you have a wooden or glass coffee table, you can also add a net table cover to add an aesthetic appeal. You will also need to consider how you will be decorating the area where the bride and groom will be seated.

Plants

Who doesn’t love a good dose of greenery in the house? A great way to keep the oxygen levels high and spruce up your space with some greenery is by bringing in some plants home! For those who wanted to include greenery in a more hassle-free manner, buy evergreen plants such as money plant or shrubs.

Now go get decorating!
