7 Classic Bollywood-Inspired Makeup Looks To Flaunt On Your Big Day

7 Classic Bollywood-Inspired Makeup Looks To Flaunt On Your Big Day

We have a lot to thank Bollywood for, right from the music to outfits and sangeets. Bollywood glamourised our desi girls and converted them to divas. It gave birth to the iconic winged eyeliner look in the 60s when Saira Bano rocked it and pulled in 80s glamour with colourful eyeshadow when Sridevi strutted to Hawa Hawaii (Which has made a comeback today).

Makeup is an important part of the whole bridal look. It has shaped us over the years and given us the freedom to express ourselves. We couldn’t imagine a wedding without taking a little Bollywood-inspired glam with us down the aisle, to feel like the best version of ourselves on that day! (Thanks to all the hit songs we’ve grown up with). We hope you get ready to start creating your makeup mood board with these Bollywood inspired looks!

1) Rani Mukherji From Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum

We all loved Rani’s bedazzled lehenga as we grew up watching K3G and couldn’t get enough of her demure winged eyeliner that highlighted her eyes enough to make it stand out. Her lashes aren’t exaggerated in this look because she keeps it pretty classic. Her bronzer and supple nude lips complete this soft glam look.

2) Aishwarya from Devdas

We were swayed by Aishwarya Rai’s enhanced Bengali cat-eyes that expressed a million emotions. Every Bengali girl has dreamt of bringing out her Paro from this movie with the winged eyeliner look at least once. If you’re now a grown-up bride, you know the kind of classic look we’re talking about!

3) Madhuri Dixit Hum Aapke Hain Kaun

Madhuri Dixit’s stunning eyeliner sans kajal look made a smashing comeback when the movie ‘Hum aapke Hain Kaun’ was out. This 60s inspired look draws focus on the eyes not with kajal but lashes this time. Her lips are enhanced with a glossy coral nude that adds a fresh appeal ot the look!

4) Pretty Zinta In maahi ve

We know you’ve chosen her choreography from this song for sure and all that is left is the makeup. She dons a soft smokey eye, bronzed and coral cheeks with a glossy nude lipstick in the caramel range. It’s the perfect look to bring out your playful character.

5) Twinkle Khanna From Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai

Twinkle Khanna’s south Indian bridal look in this song got us tapping our feet and eyes in awe. Her smokey brown eyes make her eyes stand out and her minimal makeup look balances out her heavy jewellery. If you want to flaunt your jewellery on your big day, we’d suggest you keep your makeup as minimal as hers with a modern dewy twist.

6) Priyanka Chopra Desi Girl Look

Priyanka certainly brings out the ultimate smokey-eyed sultry goddess within all of us with her look in Desi girl. This ultra-glam look is perfect for all your pre-wedding events like the sangeet and cocktail parties!

7) Mastani Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone’s sharp cat eyeliner without the kajal again is a classic look that you can carry off. The golden rule for a bold cat-eye is ditching the kajal on your waterline so that the classic red lip stands out. If you’re bold enough to carry it off, we can’t wait to see you!

Bring out your inner Bollywood diva and shine like no other on your big day!
