7 Delectable Recipes for your Pre-wedding Party!

7 Delectable Recipes for your Pre-wedding Party!

Hosting a pre-wedding party?

One of the most important aspects for a party to be a 100% success is not the decor nor the music, it is the appetizers you serve-the quality and the quantity of them.

The science hitting the bull’s eye when it comes to choosing the right appetizers for your party is- they should be lip-smacking, they should be easy to hold and not very messy, they should be preferably light on the stomach (mainly because the party may have a whole lot of drinks as well) and lastly, there should be something for vegetarians and non-vegetarians as well.

Now, another important thing to remember is that guests usually prefer easy, comfort foods as appetizers while attending a party. Also, with your wedding date a few days later, you too cannot give a lot of time to arrange for appetizers. Taking all these factors into consideration and sifting through hundreds of recipes, I have come across a few easy-to-make and delectable appetizers you can totally ‘WOW’ your guests with:

P.S- Don’t forget to have some extras, especially if they turn out to be tasty! 😉

1. Caramel Popcorn

Popcorn can be a nice and light snack for a function taking place at home.

You could also provide your guests with cones so that they can help themselves.

Recipe:

Step 1- Take a saucepan and melt 2 small cups of butter in it. Add 2 & ½ cups of brown sugar and 1 cup golden syrup.

Step 2-Bring it to a boil and stir for 1 minute. Then, remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Step 3- Pour the mixture over 24 cups popped popcorn and then allow it to cool on wax paper. Before breaking it up.

TIP: Make sure you don’t make too much popcorn at once or else it may become soft.

2. Burrata Caprese Crostini

Serving a crostini is a great idea, as it is filling, not too messy and of course deliciiiiiiious!

Recipe:

Step 1-Slice a piece of bread and toast it until it is golden brown.

Step 2-Drizzle the bread with olive oil and run a clove of garlic over the bread.

Step 3-Now, put a layer of burrata cheese, some sliced cherry tomatoes, and basil. You can season it with salt, pepper and a drizzle of vinegar.

TIP: Make sure the toasts are crispy and they are not left idling for too long or they will go soggy and soft.

3. Guacamole dip and Tortillas

This dish is super easy and quick to prepare and don’t let the fancy name trick you into believing it is a tough one.

Recipe:

Step 1-First, cut the avocados, remove the seeds and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Roughly mash the avocados using a fork, however, let it remain a bit chunky.

Step 2- Now, add chopped onions, cilantro, salt, lime, black pepper, and chillies.

Step 3- That’s about it! Mix and serve.

TIP: Make sure that the avocados are ripe enough.

4. Strawberries dipped in chocolate

If you are looking out to serve something sweet to your guests, this is a perfect pick.

Recipe:

All you have to do is dip ripe and juicy strawberries into melted chocolate, and then leave it to rest. No all you got to do is look at your guests relish them.

TIP: Make sure you give the chocolate-dipped strawberries enough time to rest.

5. Watermelon and cucumber coolers

A welcome drink is a must-have for your guests. Rather than going in for something unhealthy like aerated drinks, why not give them something yummy, refreshing and homemade?

Recipe:

Step 1-Puree watermelon in a blender or food processor.

Step 2-Next puree English cucumber and pour into the watermelon juice using a sieve.

Step 3-Take a small bowl and mix lime juice and honey in it. Add it to the juice. If you want, you can add vodka to it in case your guests are in the mood for a cocktail.

TIP: You could top the drinks with slices of watermelon/cucumbers

6. Grilled chicken tikka

This is sure to be the star dish at your barbeque party! You will have a whole lot of guests drooling over this (literally).

Recipe:

Step 1-First of all make a marinade using the following ingredients- 1 cup coriander, 3 tbsp ginger paste, 2  tbsp garlic paste, 2 tsp garam masala, 6 peppercorns, ½ tsp orange food colour, 1kg boneless and skinless chicken breast, in a food processor.

Step 2-Pour the spice mix or marinade into a large bowl and then add 1 cup fresh yogurt to it. Mix it well, cover the bowl and allow it to marinate for minimum of 3 hours.

Step 3-Now, preheat your oven (400 F). Put the chicken on the skewers and put it on a tray. Once the oven is preheated, put the tray in and grill the chicken for 12-15 minutes, until it turns crispy and brown.

Step 4-Once this is done, remove the chicken from the skewers and put it on a plate. You could garnish it with rings of onion, lemon, and chopped coriander.

TIP: Don’t forget the slices of tomatoes, onions and capsicum for the extra crunch, texture and colour to the dish.

7. Corn Chaat

Healthy, tasty and suuuuper easy to make!

Recipe: All you need to do is boil corn and then toss it in butter. Add red chilli powder, salt, coriander and lime juice for garnishing.

TIP: You could also add chopped tomatoes, onion and sev to add extra crunch and flavour.

I am not hungry, you are!
