About the couple..
Komal was born and brought up in Amritsar, while Tanveer was living in California since the past 10 years.
Komal has a clothing line by the name KO-llection by Komal Sandhu and it was through her boutique that she came across her mother-in-law and sister-in-law as clients, almost two and a half years back.
Later, Komal and Tanveer’s families came in contact with each other and decided to set them together.
The two started talking and met each other in March 2018 and a few days later they got engaged. Before they knew it they had decided to get hitched for life!
“I think there was some connection between the two of us the very day we started talking. It never felt like it was an arranged marriage and that we didn’t know each other. It was the beginning of something really special and beautiful.”
The Wedding Festivities..
Sufi Night
The wedding ceremonies began with the blissful Sufi night with legendary Sufi singer Sartaj Singh. It was by the bride’s side as the couple didn’t have the sangeet function together. The sufi night saw all the women dressed up in scintillating ghararas/shararas with jhoomers and the men wore pathanis.
The bride donned a stunning Sabyasachi sharara set with the most amazing jewellery which perfectly complemented the outfit. The dramatic passa, the oversized necklace and the understated makeup, made her stand out!
Sundowner Mehndi
The highlight of this function was the peppy, zesty and vivacious ‘All-Yellow’ decor with oodles of refreshing marigold flowers! There was a larger than life pair of yellow glasses made up of flowers, pretty floral chandeliers, floral curtains and the roof was covered with light yellow drapes. The seating arrangement was casual. The bride’s seating was in the form of a canopy- casual and chic.
Shagun
The bride flaunted a self-designed emerald green suit for this ceremony, with an oversized maang tikka and an extravagant choker. Tanveer looked debonair in a long coat paired with a contrasting orange turban.
Wedding
The wedding or Anand Karaj took place in traditional Sikh-style! The decor was luxurious, opulent and gave us major #RoyalVibes. Komal looked straight out of a fairytale with her offbeat and unconventional lehenga. It was an olive grey outfit with a baby pink blouse, covered with shimmery embellishments. The large embroidered peacocks, paisleys and other traditional designs added the extra oomph to the ensemble. Not to miss the double dupattas which were completely contrasting. The jewellery was majorly dramatic and regal, making the bridal ensemble an enviable one.
Tanveer wore an eye-catching angrakha with a pistachio-coloured silk robe.
Reception
The couple entered the reception in style- with dhols and firecrackers welcoming them! Komal wore a classy and elegant green lehenga, while Tanveer adorned a green achkan.
The venue was decorated with chandeliers, candles, fairy lights quirky metal cage hangings. Not to miss the massive, jaw-dropping wedding cake.
