Love has no Age Limit and these Couples Prove it!

A few months ago while I was mindlessly binge-watching Made in Heaven, one story, in particular, moved me. It’s the story of Gayatri Mathur and Bijoy Chatterjee, two people who accidentally meet at a park. Sparks fly at their very first meeting and one can notice that they’re smitten by each other. But what’s holding them back? The fact that they’re an elderly couple well into their sixties doesn’t go well with many people (including Gayatri’s children.) Okay coming back to the point of the blog- why are people so queasy when we are talking about elderly people head over heels in love with each other? Oh, boy! Is love and PDA only reserved for the youngsters (also let’s face it: millennials are just old people trapped in young bodies. I know I am!) If you feel that old people should limit themselves to holding hands, scroll down honey. You’re going to be in for a shock!

In the popular book Eat, Pray, Love, author Elizabeth Gilbert wrote a touching paragraph on soulmates. She wrote and I quote, “People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soulmate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet because they tear down your walls and smack you awake.” And I can’t help but agree with her!
