‘When a chance meeting turned into friendship and graduated into love’
“Love is friendship that has caught fire” – Ann Landers
The Story
Sparks flew between Shruti and Ronak when they bumped into each other at Mumbai’s famous Canvas Laugh Factory where they had come to enjoy a fun stand-up show. They couldn’t take their eyes off each other and knew it was not merely by chance that the universe had conspired to bring them together. And as fate would have it, they bumped into each other again at Shiamak Davar’s dance studio! Over time they progressed from being great friends to loving companions. Their dance mentor too was instrumental in bringing them closer to each other. And there has been no looking back ever since that day 🙂
Traversing through the ups and downs of their long relationship, sharing and growing together over the years, marriage was the next natural progression of this beautiful chapter. Needless to say, both of them felt it in some magically silent way that the culmination of their loving relationship should lead them into an eternal bond of being man and wife!
The Proposal
Ronak proposed to Shruti in the most romantic way you can imagine! It started with a surprise romantic drive from Mumbai to Pune. Finally, on reaching ‘the spot’ Ronak popped out a ring under the starlit sky and asked the love of his life to marry him.
Beautiful, isn’t it?
The Wedding
The planning for this adorable couple’s Big Fat Indian Wedding began months in advance. Since both reside in South Mumbai, they decided to plan their elaborate and elegant wedding (just like the way they always envisioned their wedding) in premier locations in their part of the city. Hence began the preparation for their larger than life wedding!
The festivities kickstarted with a vibrant mehendi ceremony that was held at Hindu Gymkhana, Marine Drive. The air was filled with excitement and vigour. Post this, a grand sangeet was planned at the spectacular Taj President, Cuffe Parade. In their true extravagant style, the bride and groom were dressed to kill, literally! Shruti looked absolutely mesmerizing in a shimmering white gown while Ronak perfectly complimented her in a chic black tuxedo. The sangeet evening was one affair to remember with memorable performances by their near and dear ones. For Shruti however, dancing along with her to-be spouse to the timeless Celine Dion classic ‘My Heart Will Go On’ was the most cherished memory from the event.
Come d-day, it was time for their much anticipated regal wedding. Being a fashion designer herself, it was Shruti’s long time dream of designing her wedding lehenga herself. Not only did this gorgeous and talented bride design her own lehenga, but also created Rounak’s wedding ensemble. And that’s how the bride, in her intricately crafted pastel pink lehenga, and the groom, in his elegant beige sherwani entered the resplendent setting of Mumbai’s coveted Parsi Gymkhana Ground, Marine Drive which was their wedding venue.
In all, Shruti and Ronak’s long and intimate journey found the perfect expression in the form of their great grand wedding!
About the Photographer
Movieing Moments were responsible for capturing perfect memories and making timeless frames. And what a splendid job they have done! The couple too recounts having a thoroughly positive experience collaborating with them. Shruti further adds, “Vaibhav and his team are a bunch of young folks and a very professional group. His photos leave you feeling so warm and happy. Working with him was a privilege. He is so talented and the entire team worked endlessly to get those perfect shots for us. I feel so incredibly blessed to have crossed paths and worked with someone so talented. None of our photos were staged, and yet he captured every moment so flawlessly.”
