The months of January and February are the best months to get married in Mumbai. Yeah, as the island city doesn’t have a winter season, these months are comparatively cooler, and there is certain spring in one’s step we think! Bride Simran and groom Ruchit had elaborate wedding plans between January and February 2020. This good-looking pair met through mutual friends and one month into the relationship, Simran knew he was the one for her!
They had planned five events – two in Mumbai and three events over a three-day cruise in Singapore. Their cruise was to bring together 300-400 guests and loved ones from across the world, and it was to be one big party! Sounds exciting, right? Yes, it was until COVID-19 happened.
All was going well until the coronavirus spread rapidly across the world. Soon, it was termed as a Pandemic by WHO. So, the couple had to re-think their cruise trip. “There was no lockdown imposed then, but many cases were being reported from different parts of the world. We were going to have so many guests over from different locations. We did not want to risk it as if something untoward happened then the entire crowd would be in danger. So, we decided to postpone it indefinitely… for now!” says Simran.
Their Sangeet, the wedding and reception took place on 29th & 30th of January 2020. These functions happened without any glitch. For the Sangeet, Simran looked stunning in a Manish Malhotra ensemble – a heavily embroidered skirt with a ruffled hem and a ruffled dupatta draped on the side with a sexy blouse. The groom matched her in a dapper outfit by Raghavendra Rathore. For the wedding and reception, she wore a gorgeous Anushree Reddy lehenga, and the groom wore an outfit by designer Sonam Luthria.

So, what’s in store next? “We are going to continue it as is! And mostly make it our 1st-anniversary celebration!” adds Simran.
That sounds like a plan to us, and we hope they do get to party on their cruise as promised!
