These 9 Geological Wonders make for the perfect honeymoon destinations!

These 9 Geological Wonders make for the perfect honeymoon destinations!

Honeymoons have a special little place, don’t they? 10 days when you are disconnected from the world, in the the company of your partner and some very *ahem* strong *ahem* romantic feelings. It is sone pe suhaaga when you get to spend these days in the laps of nature! Time and again nature has left us spellbound! The mere humans can never fully understand her magnifique beauty. Ditch those mainstream places on your honeymoon list and go for these geological wonders instead!

1. Rainbow Mountains, Peru

Hello teacher and classmates who made fun of my colourful mountains in 1st grade. They exist! Popularly known as the Rainbow Mountains, these natural wonders are just a few hours away from Cusco. The different colours are due to mineralogy.

Pro tip: Avoid to go to the Rainbow Mountains during the rains or snow.

2.  Lake Hillier , Australia

Is that strawberry milk? No, that is the famous pink lake of Australia! Scientists are clueless about how the water body gained its bubblegum pink colour. It is not a trick of light, it’ll remain pink if you bottle it and carry it elsewhere! Australia is a great place for your honeymoon. The splendid nature and stunning cities will leave you in an awe!

Pro tip: Do not try to taste this water. It is salty AF!

3. Morning Glory Pool, Yellowstone National Park

The morning glory pool is one of the finest examples of nature’s beauty. The deep blue hues are due to bacteria. While the rainbow is beautiful, the lake is at constant danger of eruptions and excessive bacteria. Yellowstone National Park is an excellent place overall and definitely deserves a spot in your honeymoon itinerary if you’re travelling to the United States!

Pro tip: Yellowstone National Park is large and will require several days to be fully covered.

4. Tibetan Plateau, China

The Tibetan Plateau of China is bigger than the Western Europe and is the biggest provider of water for more than half of Asia.  It is also known as the “Roof of the World” and is breathtakingly beautiful!

Protip: Make sure to experience the different cultures of this magical place!

5. Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh

Spiti Valley is one of India’s not so hidden treasures. The place has gained immense popularity over the years. You get a breathtaking view of the milky way from the Pin valley. Yak safaris, Buddhist monasteries, river rafting are few of the things that you have to try at Spiti!

Pro tip: Don’t listen to Google Maps when you are planning your trip. Won’t help!

6. Aurora Borealis

The Aurora Borealis needs no introduction. These beautiful northern lights are a natural phenomenon that light up dullest of moods! Imagine witnessing the Aurora Borealis with the love of your life!

Pro tip: Read up about the weather conditions before you head up north.

7. Tulip Fields, Netherlands

If not Punjab ke sarso ke khet, aap Netherlands ke Tulips ke khet mein romance kar lijiye!

No pro tip here. You just have to soak into their beauty!

8. Tegal Wangi Beach, Bali

The Tegal Wangi Beach of Bali is quite famous for its natural jacuzzis. The beach has its own secret cave which is an ideal spot for Instagram worthy pictures, specially during the sunset!

Pro tip: Remember, sunscreen is your best friend!

9. Pamukkale, Turkey

Pamukkale is a small town in Turkey known for its mineral rich hot water springs. The town is also known as ‘Cotton Castle’. They have their very own sacred pool where weary tourists can soothe their muscles. The surreal landscapes will spellbound you and make you want to shift forever!

Which geological wonder is going to be your honeymoon destination?
