We recently attended GVK Reddy’s granddaughter, Shriya Bhupal’s wedding in Hyderabad and it was as grand as it gets!

We recently attended the wedding of Shriya Bhupal, the founder and designer of the brand ‘Shriya Som’ who tied the knot with childhood sweetheart and scion of the Apollo Hospitals family, Anandith last night and oh boy, it was one affair to remember!

Well, it wasn’t a surprise because the news of this couple’s lavish pre-wedding masquerade ball at the Chantilly Palace outside Paris had set the bar for the wedding pretty high. Here’s reporting all that we saw, experienced and felt in love with at the wedding !

The Sangeet:

The wedding celebrations began with a boho soiree which progressed to a sangeet night. And it sure was one night that we will never forget.

The Boho soirée or the mini sangeet as the bride likes to call it was all full of surprises. While our car progressed to the driveway, we had already guessed that it was going to be something REALLY grand looking at the fabulous out of the world decor decor at the entrance itself. On a closure look, it was created keeping in mind a  lot of personalised aspects of the couple!

I spotted some very quirky auto-rickshaws with the couple’s pre-wedding pictures on the sides of it. Can it get any cuter than this?

Stepping further inside, it literally felt like we were entering a fairytale world in real life. The theme selected was, ‘Bohemian wonderland’ which included a lot of exotic flowers and it left us awestruck.

As we walked in, we fell in love with the soft and soothing aroma of fresh flowers along with subtle and lively music and flower girls. Yes, flower girls – these gals dressed all foral were playing violin and were definitely something. And while we were just spell bound by the decor, the bride arrived.

The bride in Elie Saab:

Dressed in a beige floor-sweeping Elie Saab couture gown, she sure had all eyes on her.

What really caught my attention was her off-beat styling of the jewellry. She sure seems the type who doesn’t play by the rules and brings in her creativity to the things around her, which is what she did with the way she paired her jewelry.

Noticed her stunning head-gear? Well, it seems it’s actually a necklace which she wore on her head and it’s such a bold and appreciated choice!

The dance-floor:

Just when her mini-sangeet ended, the night proceeded to the dance floor and guess what, the dance floor was on a swimming pool. Yes, they covered a gigantic swimming pool with transparent tiles for people to shake a leg on it!

There was live music performance by this amazing band ‘The Inspiration Band’, and these boys were amazing!

Now, proceeding to Day 2, The wedding:

What took place first, was an intimate wedding:

Shriya tied the knot in a very intimate wedding which was officiated by Jaggi Vasudev and her friends and family by her side. The wedding was actually a reflection of the bond she and Anadith share and it was a delight to witness it.

Shriya chose to wear a pink Tarun Tahiliani silk saree and looked phenomenal. Keeping her ‘diamond only’ style intact she completed the look with a necklace-earring set, maang tikka, kamarbandh and armlet.

She kept her makeup subtle and we loved the pop of pink on her lips.

Anandith on the other hand wore a ivory sherwani and complemented shriya’s look with his stole’s embroidery matching shriya’s saree.

Have a look at the video:

Towards the later part of the night came the Grand wedding:

Did you know the bride didn’t see her outfit till before a couple of days before the wedding? Well, that’s her bond with her mentor Tarun Tahiliani. She told him she wanted to wear a pink lehenga and asked him to go as dramatic with it, as he wants. And that he did.

Shriya wore a dusty pink Tarun Tahiliani lehenga and looked her stunning self. What caught my attention though was her veil. She didn’t wear a normal dupatta, and took the ghoonghat, she wore a customised veil instead.

Here’s looking at her bridal entry:

Anandith on the other hand wore an ivory sherwani with muted shades of pink. He complimented Shriya’s look with his safa and looked his stunning self.

A special mention of the decor –

The wedding decor was a delight in itself. Shriya had planned for a complete south-Indian style of wedding which she had her team work on since months. She had decided to go for a ‘masnat’, where the Nizams used to get married. So, the masnat is like a mini-tent that’s embroidered in the Charminar, and they used that for the wedding.

Each corner of the venue was a surprise in itself. From live orchestra, to different cuisines to the regal vibes all around, it felt like we witnessed a real life princess marry her prince charming.

Talking about her love story, Shriya said in an interview, “So we grew up together, we were in school together in our 5th grade, and we studied together till our 12th and then we went to college, separately. So, I think once we got back, we randomly reconnected last summer. He was my first boyfriend I dated back in school. So, after that when we went to college, we obviously lost touch with each other, but then we met again this summer, basically came up together.”

Day 3 Reception:

Here’s looking at the grand reception that took place at the Taj Falaknuma palace last night.

The newly married couple made a royal appearance and we just can’t get our eyes off them.

Designer Shriya Bhupal looked stunning in Marchesa ruffled gown while Anindith Reddy looked dapper in a tailored Tom Ford suit at their wedding reception.

Loving her makeup by Namrata Soni. She opted for dark berry lips, simple dewy look over all, a subtle glitter on the eyes and sleek hair!

Well, we definitely wish this newly weds all the happiness in the world!
