With only a day left for the new year, it seems like the right time to look back and take a recap of the best of this year. I am back to my favourite job- judging what people wore and picking the best out of the lot. This year I was entrusted with the job of finding the best of groomswear. Oh, what a year it was! Manarkalis became increasingly popular, the colour green was the choice of many and men did not shy away from flaunting florals. Here is my list of the best-dressed grooms of 2019-
1.First on the list had to be Tanveer. He impressed all of us in a pistachio green silk manarkali. The motifs interspersed with zardozi and marodi embroidery rendered using dabka and Kashmiri tilla are refreshing

2. When Ankur Patel’s photos first surfaced on Instagram, my entire team went gaga. Dressed in Sabyasachi from head to toe, this groom’s dapper look won our hearts

Grooms Aditya and Amit chose twinning ensembles with small motifs for their reception. Love the combination of grey and eggplant purple. And the Louboutin shoes act like a cherry on the top!

4. A long jacket sherwani paired with a skirt is not a traditional groom’s attire, but it is a good one! Specially when the off white sherwani has intricate golden embroidery and a front slit

5. Peacock blue sherwani with golden zari work and a complimenting Banarasi shawl. Perfect!

6. Karan paired his ivory sherwani with a bright green shawl and safa. The highlight here is the peacock feather attached to his safa. Love the play on colours here!

7. This groom’s decision to wear florals and neon to his mehendi ceremony makes me so happy!
