8 Brides who chose Sarees over Gowns for their Reception!

8 Brides who chose Sarees over Gowns for their Reception!

Owing to the grace and panache this versatile six yards extends to a bride’s overall look, a saree is a must-have in every bridal trousseau. Whether it is an understated and minimalistic one or a gaudy and flamboyant one, the saree has always been a bridal favourite. Although there are a substantial number of brides who are flaunting beautiful gowns at their reception, there are many brides who have ditched other outfit options for the timeless saree.

From the fancy sarees like georgette, chiffon and those with heavy embroidery and zari work to subtle and more traditional ones like Kanjeevaram, Benarasi, Patolas and crapes, brides have an array of sarees to choose from for their reception ceremony.

Here’s me listing 8 sarees that I completely fell in love with in the first glance and, I am sure you will too:

1. Ethereal Chikankari Saree

From the number of functions Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had for their wedding, her outfit for this reception ceremony was particularly stunning! She draped a chikankari ivory saree with a trail, paired with a head dupatta. The outfit was laden with Swarovski crystals, heavy zari work, and sequins.

2. Fuschia Pink Saree

This bride donned a pretty fuschia pink saree with a gorgeous border. She paired it with a silk blouse and a minimalistic jewellery set. The bindaas bride also flaunted a pair of sunglasses to add the ‘fun’ element to her overall look!

3. Classic Ethnic Saree

This bride wore a rust and rani pink traditional silk saree paired with understated jewellery. The tiny bindi and gajra added to the ethnic look!

4. Ivory and Gold Saree

I am super-impressed with the Sabyasachi outfit worn by this gorgeous bride. The sheer ivory ensemble with gold undertones and a blouse with floral motifs, is a delight to the eyes!

5. Banarsi Beauty

I am pretty sure red is a colour which will never not be in vogue! For her reception ceremony, Anushka Sharma wore an ethnic red and gold Banarsi saree. She paired this with an oversized choker and jumkaas.

6. Saree with a jacket

Being stylish and trendy, while combining it with something traditional- is exactly what we learned from this beautiful bride! She paired her red saree with a red and gold jacket. Not to miss the oversized gold polki necklace she wore with a minimalistic mang tikka.

7. Saree Gown

Saree gowns have been a trend since long. An outfit especially for brides who want something flattering and easy to pull off, both at once! This trendy salmon pink net saree gown with an off-shoulder blouse is something you should definitely bookmark for your reception ceremony.
