Vaibhav & Akriti Goa : This wedding has it all- offbeat choice of outfits , a breathtaking view and an enviable love story!

About the couple..

The first time Akriti and Vaibhav noticed each other they were in 8th grade. But, it was only four years later that they actually broke the ice and started talking to each other and became friends.

This friendship culminated into love, respect and a partnership like they had never imagined. After an 8-year long relationship if there was one thing they were most proud of, it was when their relationship continued to be a smooth sailing one, despite Akriti moving to California for her further education.

The Proposal..

Vaibhav proposed twice! The first proposal was to convince Akriti to move with him to London and have a live-in relationship and they had an awesome year together!

The second proposal seemed straight out of a movie- Vaibhav went on his knee on the Tower Bridge in London and proposed to his lady love. Subsequently, they had a traditional Roka ceremony in London with family and close friends. Undoubtedly, Akriti said ‘YES’!

In the following year they decided to tie the knot in Goa, in the presence of their loved ones.

The Wedding Festivities..

Wedding planning was not a cakewalk for Akriti and Vaibhav, owing to the fact that they lived in London and their families had to handle everything. However, they tried their level best to indulge in what we like to call- Virtual Planning!

“It got stressful, and we had to bring in the big guns – Instagram pages like weddingz.in, pretty looking planners and folders and files, and shared apple notes and with the help of both our immediate families.

If you are making wedding decisions, while not being at home, Instagram is pretty much your only hope. I did my research on designers for clothes, bags, shoes, jewellery, photographer, makeup artist online.”

Mehendi and Sangeet

For the mehendi ceremony the bride had adorned a gorgeous ivory lehenga with silver embellishments and minimalistic white floral jewellery! The couple posed for some romantic clicks by the beach, during a beautiful sunset and it was a sight to behold!!

The Sangeet ceremony saw the couple twinning in powder blue and they looked absolutely adorable!!

Haldi and Wedding

The Haldi ceremony saw the couple dressed in traditional yellow outfits and the decor was rather minimalistic and subtle.

The Wedding was a traditional affair. Akriti donned a stunning, classic maroon lehenga; while Vaibhav wore a gold sherwani.
