(as always) He used gorgeous Banarasi weaves and Bandhani prints for the very first time and wanted to communicate a style that had deep roots in Indian culture, yet had undertones of ‘today’. This collection was solely inspired from the remote villages of Gujarat and Banaras and every design is soaked in this very distinct style that exhibits the true vibe of Gujrat and Banaras. Only the sheer genius that is Manish Malhotra could so perfectly combine techniques of Banarsi weaves, mirror work and pastels and blend them to create something so beautiful!

When asked about why he opted to have Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor as his showstoppers, Manish Malhotra says :

“It’s a very Indian collection. It’s very organic. I think Katrina and Aditya are tall, beautiful, very today, sexy and glamorous. I have worked with Aditya before and he looks very good in an Indian attire. Of course, Katrina looks very beautiful and I think they make perfect showstoppers for the collection.”
