Punit & Niharika Jaipur : A royal fairy tale wedding perfect for two Engineers!

Punit & Niharika Jaipur : A royal fairy tale wedding perfect for two Engineers!

“Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale.” – Hans Christian Andersen

We start believing in ‘happy endings’ and fairy tales from a young age. Every fairy tale promises love, laughter and a happily ever after. Niharika and Punit’s royal wedding is nothing less than a modern Indian fairy tale.

How They Met
Niharika originally hails from Rajasthan while Punit was born in Kolkata and moved to Bangalore for studies. They met at a university in Bangalore where they were pursuing Engineering. Acquaintances first, the turning point was the college dance team in which they both participated. They started dating soon after that.

After completing her degree, Niharika moved to London to do her Masters, a year ahead of Punit. Post Masters, Niharika moved to Singapore while Punit returned to India. They used to meet every three months and this went on for some time.

The Proposal
When the time came, Punit had planned the cutest proposal! While in Singapore, Punit woke up a sleeping Niharika at 3:00 am and said, “It’s me, making your dream come true.

Niharika has always wanted a palatial wedding in India having been brought up in Rajasthan. Indana Palace seemed perfect since it gave a very familial feeling, largely due to its incredible hospitality. Since Jaipur is well connected to Kolkata, F5 Weddings was roped in for all their wedding festivities.

Day 1: Sangeet
The Sangeet night was all about ‘Glitz and Glam’. The general ambience of the celebration echoed fun. Careful attention was paid to certain aspects, for example, cocktails were given quirky names like ‘Cosmopunitan’, ‘Midha Swag’, ‘Going Gupta’, etc. The stage was not left empty with plenty of family performances kept everyone engaged and entertained. Even the couple of the evening, Niharika and Punit, took centre stage to shake a leg. The bride stunned everyone in a red glittery one-shoulder gown while Punit looked dapper in a three-piece navy suit.

Day 2: Mehendi & Cultural Evening
When ‘Punjabi Mela’ is the theme, everything needs to thoda extra! The decor, entertainment and every person who attended, did complete justice to the theme. Gota hangings adorned the immediate surroundings with quirky décor adds to the charm of the ‘Punjabi Mela’ theme. Niharika was seen wearing a sunshine yellow suit embellished with white jewels and beads. Her look was completed with cream mojris and waterfall earrings.

As the sun set, everyone changed their outfits for an evening befitting the “Rajasthani’ theme. Rajasthani folk singers and also few stunt troupes kept everyone entertained during the sit-down dinner which included a lavish choice of Rajasthani dishes.

Day 3: Pheras & Reception
‘Pastels’ was finalised as the theme for the D-Day. The mandap was decorated with pink and white carnations. Niharika, the bride, looked absolutely stunning as she entered under a phoolon ki chadar adorned with the same flowers. She wore a blush lehenga with a powder blue dupatta to add a touch of contrast to the ensemble. Punit’s outfit was in tandem with Niharika’s, wearing a cream sherwani and completing his look.

The reception took place in the open lawns and the theme was ‘Lights’. Plenty of fairy lights made the entire lawn lit up with twinkling starry guise. The couple made their entry to the song Arziyan from Delhi 6 to create that perfect romantic aura.
