Weddingz.in Exclusive Picks From Anita Dongre For The Bride and her sister!

Weddingz.in Exclusive Picks From Anita Dongre For The Bride and her sister!

We recently went bridal-wear shopping at Anita Dongre’s flagship store at Khar, Mumbai, and handpicked our favourite designs for a bride-to-be and her sister! It goes without saying that the results were ah-mazing.

So, gear up to see Weddingz.in exclusive picks for sangeet, cocktail, wedding and reception looks from none other than the ace designer – Anita Dongre!

Why Anita Dongre:

The House of Anita Dongre has always showcased Indian aesthetics in a very contemporary language. Inspired by Rajasthan’s rich crafts, her handcrafted bridal gota patti lehengas, handwoven Banarasi creations and bespoke menswear ensembles make up for a sensational bride and groom trousseau.

Our pick for Sangeet:

For the Sangeet ceremony we picked a blue lehenga skirt paired with a bespoke raw silk jacket, with a plunging neckline embellished with exquisite embroidery, gota patti and sequin work for the bride-to-be!

For an event this lively, what’s better than the bride making her grand sangeet entry on a Royal Enfield! An outfit this jazzy demanded an entry like this.

Our pick for Sangeet:

Our pick for Sangeet:

We wanted the sister’s Sangeet outfit to be from the same colour palette and thus, chose an icy-blue lehenga-choli beautifully adorned with dori, sequin, zardosi and mirror embroidery work. One can pair this mellow, yet irresistible lehenga with subtle jewelry.

Our pick for Cocktail:

While all the looks picked for the pre-wedding ceremonies were purely traditional, for the Cocktail night we decided to give the Indian wear a rest.

We picked this red and yellow striped co-ord comprising of a bustier and flared pants paired with a voluminous jacket for the bride’s cocktail look. What’s special about the jacket is the SEWA work (google ‘Sewa’ – it is a super-cool organisation for women).

The bride can always add an traditional touch to the ensemble by pairing it with ethnic earrings. The makeup was kept very natural and balanced by adding a dark colour to the lips!

If the bride is not opting for a traditional look, then neither should the sister. Keeping that in mind, we picked this gorgeous ankle length gown for the bride’s sister.

Our pick for Cocktail:
