The Best Bridal Wear For The Season Is Setting Major Wedding Goals – Lakme Fashion Week W/F 2017 Day 3
India’s biggest fashion week is here and it has the country’s best designers showing us what’s hot in fashion this season – and their wedding wear is simply stunning. We already had a look at Masaba’s latest lehenga collection for quirky bridesmaids. Let’s check out some more bridal trends from a few of these top designers:
Rahul Mishra
This time as well, Rahul Mishra stuck to his heritage techniques and handloom embroidery. Motifs were inspired by nature on Chanderi and Banarasi fabrics. Silhouettes were a blend of contemporary and traditional elements like lehengas with jacket-blouses and sarees with kurta-blouses. Shraddha Kapoor concluded the show in a gorgeous muga silk lehenga in maroon and off-white.
Falguni and Shane Peacock
Collaborating with Farah Khan, for some ethereal jewellery, Falguni and Shane Peacock showcased a collection called ‘Cassiopeia’ inspired by space. Silhouettes were all western with futuristic elements. The colour palette was similar, with tones of galaxy blue, midnight blue, glossy black, nude and silver. Preity Zinta walked the runway as showstopper in a pale, off-shoulder ball gown with silver embroidery.
Gaurang
This designer stuck to his trademark inspiration and theme of heritage elements. The colour pallette was earthy and used natural dyes from pomegranate seeds, indigo, iron, etc. Kanchipuram silk was decorated with Kalamkari embellishment inspired from the Ajanta caves. The collection is perfect for one with an aesthetic root in Indian traditionalism.
Amit Agarwal
The collection worked with structured, sharp silhouettes in metallic shades of gold, silver and copper along with emerald green, rich red and royal blue. It was a blend of western silhouettes with vintage Banarasi fabric from restored sarees and stunning hand embroidery.
Sailesh Singhania
Titled ‘The Winter Rose’, Sailesh Singhania’s collection consisted of a range vibrant pinks, blues, reds and yellows. The ensembles consisted of an ethnic base with contemporary details like long capes and jackets. Radhika Apte concluded the show in a bright yellow and gold brocade lehenga with a cape.
