Rajat & Priyanka Gurugram : Colourful outfits and ethnic decor- this shaadi is #goals for couples who want to keep it desi!

Every ceremony had its own flavour and charm owing to the use of vibrant colours, authentic decor and the choice of outfits.

About the couple..

Priyanka was working in Dubai and Rajat in Abu Dhabi, when they were introduced during lunch, by a couple of mutual friends on a weekend. After lunch, they grabbed coffee and later mid-evening, sheesha. The two just didn’t want the day to end! This meeting was the beginning of their love story.

Rajat would travel to Dubai on every weekend to meet her, until her parents agreed to finally meet and the Roka was fixed. “Since we were both busy on weekends, he would come every weekend to meet me and hence I’d like to call my story, ‘The Weekend Love Story’.”

Since Rajat is Punjabi and Priyanka is Garhwali, initially there were a few apprehensions on part of their respective families, however, with time things ironed out for the better and they decided to get hitched!

The Wedding Festivities..

Mehendi

The mehendi saw the bride dressed in a bottle green ensemble with gold and pink embellishments. The decor was authentic, with the backdrop made out of loads of colourful, shiny umbrellas. It was an intimate affair with friends and family and seemed to be an enjoyable one!

Sangeet and Engagement

This function had a retro theme and the decor was customized and quirky. Rajat looked debonair in his black tux, while Priyanaka dazzled in her beige, gold and neon orange lehenga. After the couple exchanged rings, there was a whole lot of dancing, masti and fun.

Morning Pooja and Wedding

The day kicked off with the morning pooja ceremony.  The bride wore a lemon-yellow suit and minimalistic makeup.

The wedding was an extravagant affair. The mandap looked bright gorgeous with neon drapes, bedecked with flowers. The groom wore a white sherwani, while the bride wore a stunning gold and beige lehenga.

Reception

Rajat wore a black bandhgala jacket with trousers, while Priyanka looked like a million bucks in a traditional red and gold saree. The stage decoration was rather classy and elegant- with ferns and foliage and large chandeliers.
